Historien om Sneakerzone - Sneakerzone

Sneakerzone has started and subsequently scaled the business within a single year. Behind the success are two young brothers from Odense, both now going all-in to pursue their entrepreneurial dream.

In this post, you get the story of the creation of Sneakerzone, told by the two founders, Dan and Nam Dinh.

"Our parents' living room is filled with shoeboxes. Every centimeter of the room is used for storage."

That's what the engine room looks like here at Sneakerzone, created by the two brothers, Dan and Nam Dinh. At Sneakerzone, rare and exclusive sneakers such as Yeezy, New Balance, including the ultra-popular New Balance 550, Jordan 1, Nike Dunk and more are sold.

"Since the start, we have shipped well over 2,000 sneakers to Danish sneaker enthusiasts. Especially around Black Friday in 2021, we experienced great interest," says Nam, the younger of the two brothers, and continues:

"Our business has really taken off, and the goal for 2022 is to double sales. In the months January-April 2022, we have already sold four times as many sneakers as the same period last year – which we think is pretty wild."

The idea arose at school during COVID-19

The brothers have always had a passion for sneakers. Before Sneakerzone was established, they traded sneakers privately. By keeping an eye on official retailers of rare shoes, extraordinary sneakers were bought and then sold on to other "sneakerheads."

Like many other high school students, Nam's life was turned upside down when corona shut down Danish society. So he had to follow lessons from home – but the focus was on sneakers, not homework, Nam explains:

"I must admit that not much was done regarding school and homework while I was sent home during corona. Most of the time was spent behind a screen – and there I had the opportunity to explore our sneaker project."

"At the same time, I used my student grant to invest in newer and cooler products for the range, which has definitely been a driving factor behind the success we are currently experiencing," explains the 18-year-old entrepreneur, who graduated from high school in summer 2022.

From storage in parents' living room to real warehouse and salary payments

"2022 will hopefully be the year we finally can move out of our parents' living room and find a proper warehouse to store our products. At the same time, we also hope to be able to pay ourselves some salary now that we can no longer rely on the student grant. Until now, we have invested everything directly into further developing the business."

"But we are two entrepreneurial souls, and money in the form of salary is therefore not as important as seeing our business take off and having many happy customers. We have many plans on the drawing board, and with a lot of hard work, I am sure we will achieve many of our goals this year," says Dan.
