Nike Air Force 1 was launched in 1982 and was Nike’s first basketball silhouette with built-in Nike Air cushioning in the midsole. The design was created by Bruce Kilgore and quickly became known for its sturdy construction, clean leather build, and the distinctive sole with a circular pivot point under the forefoot.
Nike Air Force 1 is sometimes mistakenly called “Air Force One,” but the correct model name is Nike Air Force 1.
