Nike Mind
What is Nike Mind?
Nike Mind is a new footwear concept from Nike, developed based on neuroscience research and human perception. Instead of focusing on speed or classic performance, Nike Mind has one main purpose: to strengthen the connection between mind and body through sensory activation under the foot.
The series is developed by Nike’s newly established Mind Science Department, consisting of neuroscientists and perception psychologists. The platform is based on more than a decade of research into how sensory input from the feet affects the brain’s attention, calmness, and mental presence.
The sensory technology behind Nike Mind
The core of the Nike Mind platform is a unique sole construction made up of 22 anatomically mapped, independent foam nodules placed under the foot. Each nodule moves and compresses individually when you stand or walk.
This movement creates a constant, low-intensity sensory feedback that activates thousands of mechanoreceptors in the foot. The technology is documented to stimulate sensory areas in the brain associated with focus and presence.
Nike Mind is not designed to directly improve performance but to reduce mental noise and help the user be more present in the moment – before and after physical activity.
Nike Mind 001 – slip-on for focus and recovery
Nike Mind 001 is a heel-free slip-on mule designed for easy use in situations where focus and recovery are central. The model is created for warming up before activity or relaxing after training, where you want to get in and out of the shoe quickly.
The silhouette is minimalist and futuristic, while the outsole is reinforced in high-stress areas so the model can be used both indoors and outdoors. Nike Mind 001 is not a running shoe but a tool for mental preparation and recovery.
Nike Mind 002 – sensory technology for everyday use
Nike Mind 002 is a more traditional sneaker model with a lacing system and a more locked fit. It shares the same sensory sole technology as Mind 001 but is designed for daily use.
The model combines comfort, stability, and sensory activation in a shape reminiscent of classic sneakers. Nike Mind 002 is aimed at those who want the benefits of the Mind platform integrated into everyday life – without changing footwear before and after activity.
When will Nike Mind launch?
The Nike Mind platform will launch with the models Nike Mind 001 and Nike Mind 002, expected to be released in early 2026. Both models will be available in selected colors and sizes.
As this is a new technological platform, availability is expected to be limited at the first release. Nike Mind is therefore relevant for athletes, sneaker enthusiasts, and those following developments in innovative footwear.
